BOTOX® is used both as a cosmetic agent and therapeutic agent. The cosmetic form is a popular injection that temporarily reduces or eliminates forehead lines, frown lines, crows feet and thick bands in the neck The therapeutic form is effective in relieving migraine headaches, excessive sweating and muscle spasm.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium. The toxin blocks the nerve impulses hence temporarily reducing the activity of muscles and eliminating wrinkles
Effects of BOTOX® are temporary and repetitive treatments are necessary every 4 months or when the effects wear off. Some prefer to get BOTOX® only before a party or event. If one choose to only get injected for an event, it is important to have the treatment 1-2 weeks prior to any event so touch ups can be done if necessary. Because BOTOX® is injected directly into the muscle itself, the risk of migration of the injected medication is very low
Do not use BOTOX® if…….
1. you have an infection in the area of injection
2. you are pregnant or might be pregnant or breast feeding.
3. you are allergic to botox or its ingredients
4. you have diseases that affect your muscles
Like any medical treatment, be sure to let us know all your medical conditions and medications that you are taking.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows in people 18 to 65 years of age for a short period of time (temporary).
BOTOX® Cosmetic is administered by a healthcare professional as a simple, nonsurgical treatment that is injected directly into the muscles between the brows. It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines to form between the brows.
BOTOX® Cosmetic, introduced in 2002, is the first botulinum toxin to be approved by the FDA to temporarily treat moderate to severe glabellar lines between the brows.
With real, noticeable results, no surgery and no recovery time, there are many reasons why BOTOX® Cosmetic has been chosen by millions of women and their doctors.
Approximately 11.8 million1 BOTOX® Cosmetic procedures have been administered in the United States since 2002.
92% of 303 patients surveyed were satisfied with the results of their BOTOX® Cosmetic experience2,3.
Individual results may vary.

Aging skin and wrinkles result from a combination of many factors. It's not just about cellular changes, collagen depletion, hormone loss, or damage caused by free radicals. The 11s – those vertical lines that appear between your brows – result from muscle contractions. When you concentrate, squint, or frown, the muscles between your brows contract, causing your skin to furrow and fold. After years of frequent contraction, those wrinkles can linger even after the muscles are at rest.
BOTOX® Cosmetic works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes the persistent lines to form between the brows.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is certainly not just for women. If you are a man and think it's time to do something about those moderate to severe glabellar lines between your brows, talk to your doctor about whether BOTOX® Cosmetic is right for you.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of the "11s," the moderate-to-severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines). It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines to form between the brows.
Within days, you may see a marked improvement in the moderate-to-severe frown lines between your brows. Lines continue to improve for up to 30 days, and results can last for up to 4 months. Individual results may vary.
Visible results have been shown to last up to 4 months.1 Your own results may vary – be sure to talk to your healthcare provider about what you can expect and when to schedule your next appointment.
Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Prior to injection, your physician may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream. The entire procedure takes approximately 10 minutes. Most patients are in and out of the physician's office without downtime following BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment.
Side effects associated with the injection include localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising.
Although the results are visible, a treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you've "had work done." The muscle activity that causes frown lines between the brows is temporarily reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases between your brows.
